It means 'high mountain'. The top part is qiu1 (hill) and the bottom part is shan1 (mountain) so a hill on top of a mountain is a high mountain. Traditionally the five most famous mountains in China are called 'wu3 yue4 (five mountains)'. Yue4 is also a Chinese last name.
