Mount Lushan
Lushan is a famous scenic area and summer resort in Jiangxi Province, China. Lushan is not only well known for its beautiful scenery with sheer peaks, clouds and fogs, and deep valleys, but also quite famous for its cultural relics and long history.

As described by World Heritage Committee, "Mount Lushan, in Jiangxi, is one of the spiritual centers of Chinese civilization. Buddhist and Taoist temples, along with landmarks of Confucianism, where the most eminent masters taught, blend effortlessly into a strikingly beautiful landscape which has inspired countless artists who developed the aesthetic approach to nature found in Chinese culture."

There are about 4,000 pieces of verses, over 400 inscriptions on the cliffs, and many paintings and calligraphic works about Lushan by more than 500 renowned figures during the long history. Thus Lushan is regarded as "the Kingdom of Prose and Mountain of Poetry." Here is a very famous poem by Su Shi, "Don't know the true faces of Lushan, only because being in the midst."
