China's Li Na has advanced to the Australian Open final after defeating world number two Maria Sharapova today.
Li won in straight-sets 6-2, 6-2 during the semi-finals. Li, who is ranked sixth in the world, will play in the women's singles final on Saturday against the winner of today's second semi-final match between Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and Sloane Stephens of the U.S.
