In 1903, Lord See O. Reynolds has this villa built. In 1933, Song Meiling bought it and in 1943 Jiang Kaishek and his wife Song Meiling came to stay here for quite a few times. Mao Tsetong stayed here in 1959 and 1961 during the Conference of the Central Committee of the CCP. Song Qingling, Guo Moruo and other leaders of China stayed here in succession. It was announced as one of the key national cultural relics by the State Council in 1996.
