This room, devoted to the worship of Buddha, is perhaps the most religious room in the Oroville Chinese Temple complex of rooms of worship. Here Buddha is enshined.
Entrance is through the moon door, an unusual entrance said to represent the cirle of life, or eternity.
Inside are the inner doors to a Chinese place of worship with the high threshhold. Noteworthy objects displayed here are:
Royal parasol, which is an emblem of royalty and was presented by the Empress of China to the Oroville Temple.
The Buddhistic wooden sculpture enshined, in lotus position is explaining the gospel as indicated by the gesture of the hand.
The traditional five piece altas set of pewter is placed on the outer altas.
The building to house this room for Buddha worship and the Council room below was built in 1874.
