How to Read Chinese on the Net II

It has been a while since we touched this topic last year. This is a revisit of this topic. A few add-on software systems will be briefly reviewed, along with useful links.

NJWin

NJWin is a multi-language system for Windows 3.1/95/98/NT, which supports all Chinese, Japanese, Korean (CJK) coding standards, and coding can be switched on the fly from one coding to another depending on the document being viewed. NJWin is very easy to use and works very well. NJWin is a shareware and you may download a free trial copy.

RichWin

Richwin is an add-on program that operates within your favorite software such as MS Office, PhotoShop, Netscape Communicator, which supports most of the software running on either Windows 3.11/95/NT. For viewing Chinese, there are two similar versions, RichWin RichWin for Internet (4.3) and RichWin 97 for Internet. TwinBridge

TwinBridge offers Chinese Suite and Chinese Partner. TwinBridge Chinese Partner allows the input of Chinese characters into your Windows application(s), such as MS Office 97. Chinese Suite is for viewing Chinese, Japanese, Korean news and Web Page as well as inputting Chinese email. Here is the link for downloading a demo.

UnionWay
