Shanghai Weekly is a weekly newspaper featuring news, culture, life, and event highlights in Shanghai. It happened that I picked up a copy of the weekly on the street while I was visiting Shanghai last year. I had never heard of the paper before. The weekly is quite interesting so I will have an overview of the weekly page by page here and hope you can get a glimpse of the life and cultures in Shanghai, the largest and most dynamic city in China.

The weekly has two sections, section A and B with 16 pages each. The size of the page is 11 by 15 inches. The section A covers news, sports and life. The section B is devoted to entertainment, fashion, food and life style. The section B is more colorful with better paper for color printing. The issue I had here was for June 7 to June 14, 2001.

The picture above is the cover page of the weekly, featuring Coco Lee who sings for Beijing's bid of Olympics 2008. As you know, she is the singer of the Crouching Tiger theme song, "A Love Before Time." The cover page also highlights the main content of the weekly.
