What Is the China Baseball League?
The CBL (中国棒球联赛) was founded in 2002 in China and is administered by the Chinese Baseball Association. Since 2007, the CBL has had a partnership with Japan’s baseball league, Nippon Professional Baseball, in which each Chinese team pairs up with a Japanese team to train and swap players and coaches.What Teams Play in the CBL?
The CBL includes seven teams divided into two divisions, west/north and east/south:West/North Division

- Sichuan Dragons
- Tianjin Lions
East/South Division
- Guangdong Leopards
- Jiangsu Hopestars
- Shanghai Golden Eagles
- Henan Elephants
The CBL’s original four teams were the Beijing Tigers, Tianjin Lions, Shanghai Eagles and Guangzhou Lightning. The Beijing Tigers and the Tianjin Lions have the best records with four championships each. While the CBL is in its ninth season, the league is not fully developed and individual teams do not have official websites.
