Definition:

The lily (百合, bǎi hé) is said to help a person forget his troubles. In Chinese culture, lilies are given to young women on their wedding days and/or birthdays because the flower represents a bringer of sons.

Lilies are a great gift for all occasions, especially weddings, because lilies (百合, bǎi hé) sounds like the 百合 (bǎi hé) part of the proverb 百年好合 (Bǎinián hǎo hé, happy union for one hundred years).
