| Go with President Clinton to China | |

If you would like to understand or know a country, there is no better way than visiting that country. Just from
this point of view, it is worth that President Clinton takes the China trip. China has been progressed greatly in almost
every aspect including human rights over the last 20 years. I really don't know why many Republicans in Congress
put so much energy try to block the visit. The only reason I can think of is politics. No, they don't
really care about human rights, they only care how to achieve their political goals.
We can't go with President Clinton, but fortunately we can take a virtual tour to China
with him on the Net. Let us follow President clinton's route of the trip. Hopefully you have fun!
June 25 (Thu) - Day 1
President Clinton arrives
Xi'an, the ancient capital of China. There is an arrival ceremony and he will speak to
local people.
June 26 (Fri) - Day 2
Visits the world famous
Museum of
Qin Shihuang Terracotta
Warriors and Horses. Also tours a local village
outside of Xi'an. Then departs Xi'an for Beijing.
June 27 (Sat) - Day 3
Arrives
Beijing. Receives an arrival ceremony. Then meets President Jian Zemin and Premier Zhu Rongji.
State Dinner at the Great Hall of the People.
June 28 (Sun) - Day 4
Attends service at Chong Wen Men Church and meets a group of clerics.
Then visits
the Forbidden City and
the Great Wall.
Dinner with President Jiang Zemin and Mrs Jiang.
June 29 (Mon) - Day 5
Delivers a major speech on Sino-US relations at
Beijing University.
Departs Beijing for Shanghai.
June 30 (Tue) - Day 6
Roundtable discussion with a group of young entrepreneurs at
Shanghai Municipal Library.
July 1 (Wed) - Day 7
Addresses US business leaders in
Shanghai and meets new homeowners.
July 2 (Thu) - Day 8
Departs Shanghai for
Guilin.
Meets a group of Chinese environmentalists.
Boat ride down the Li River. Then departs Guilin for
Hong Kong.
Reception with Hong Kong Chief Executive
Tung Chee-hwa.
July 3 (Fri) - Day 9
Speech at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Meets political leaders and has a press conference.
Departs for Washington DC.
